Learn About SEPA
What is SEPA?
The Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) initiative for the European financial infrastructure involves the creation of a zone for the Euro in which all electronic payments are considered domestic, and where a difference between national and intra-European cross border payments does not exist.
SEPA will allow consumers to make cashless Euro payments to any beneficiary located anywhere in the Euro area using only a single bank account and a single set of payment instruments. All retail payments in Euro will thereby become “domestic”. There will no longer be any differentiation between national and cross border payments within the Euro area.
How will SEPA affect me?
As a EuroDebit ® merchant, SEPA will increase your current payment coverage from 100 million currently to over 490 million consumers. The new system allows us to process Direct Debits and recurring transactions directly from their bank accounts, which you can expect to translate into an estimated increase in your current sales by as much as 80%.
We have re-engineered our entire payments infrastructure to accommodate the future changes and we are ready to serve our clients worldwide. When the initiative goes into effect in the 3rd quarter of 2009, our existing payment service will extend its coverage throughout Europe with the addition of 28 more countries!
What do I need to do?
If you are a EuroDebit ® customer, you just need to make sure you are taking full advantage of our European payment options we already offer.
No technical changes are required, but it is imperative that each merchant reviews their European marketing efforts and guide traffic to maximize the conversion and capitalize on the market changes.
If you are not already signed up with EuroDebit ®, then adding our solutions guarantees that you and your company are ready for the upcoming changes in the economic climate in Europe. Don’t miss out on the opportunity and signup at www.EuroDebit ®.com today!
